The Mets, who lack an established left-handed reliever with Hisanori Takahashi and Pedro Feliciano departing, met with the Beverly Hills Sports Council on Wednesday. Agent Dan Horwits indicated it was just an introductory meeting since the firm represents southpaws Will Ohman, Arthur Rhodes and Brian Fuentes.
Ohman, 33, split last season between the Orioles and Marlins, going a combined 0-2 with a 3.21 ERA in 68 relief appearances. Left-handed batters hit .229 against him.
Rhodes, 41, went 4-4 with a 2.29 ERA in 69 relief appearances for the Reds, with lefty batters hitting .214. (Righties actually hit .182.)
Fuentes, 35, was a combined 4-1 with a 2.85 ERA and 24 saves in 48 relief appearances for the Angels and Twins and would not appear a match because he is a closer. Lefties hit .128.
