The Florida Marlins have chatted internally about whether they ought to sign Luis Castillo for the major league minimum salary, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.

Castillo, who was released by the Mets on Friday, won two World Series and three Gold Gloves with Florida.

The Marlins might have use for Castillo, according to Spencer, if Matt Dominguez proves unworthy of making the major league team, which could prompt ex-Brave Omar Infante from second base to third base.
