Carlos Beltran is back in a major league exhibition game. Beltran batted fourth and started in right field on Tuesday as the Mets faced the Nationals in Viera. He played five innings.

Beltran blooped a single to left field off right-hander Jordan Zimmermann in his first at-bat. An inning later, he grounded out to first base.

In Beltran's third at-bat, facing right-hander Tyler Clippard, Beltran grounded out to second base.

Beltran also made a sliding fourth-inning catch on the Nats' Jerry Hairston Jr.
