The Mets officially returned second baseman Brad Emaus to the Toronto Blue Jays on Thursday, after he cleared waivers.

Toronto paid the Mets $25,000 to require Emaus' rights and assigned him to Triple-A Las Vegas.

The Mets had paid $50,000 to draft Emaus in December.

Emaus hit .162 with one RBI in 37 at-bats with the Mets. He needed to stay on the Mets' major league roster the entire season to become the organization's property.
