Chris Carter, who had the decisive pinch-hit RBI in his Mets debut Tuesday, already was on the field in Miami at 3 p.m. Thursday doing extra work before the Mets’ series opener against the Florida Marlins. Carter, dubbed “The Animal” in spring training by Jerry Manuel, discusses the clutch hit in his debut as well as his nickname and not getting an Opening Day roster spot.video
