Jose Reyes has returned to the Mets following a three-day stint on the bereavement list. Reyes is in the lineup for Thursday afternoon's game and will bat leadoff against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Reyes, who turns 28 in nine days, was placed on the bereavement list after learning of the death of his grandmother on Monday afternoon. Players placed on the bereavement list must miss a minimum of three days and a maximum of seven days, per MLB rules.
Reyes is batting .335 with one home run and 17 RBIs. He leads the National League in hits (76), triples (eight) and ranks second in steals (19).
To make room for Reyes, the Mets placed right-handed reliever Taylor Buchholz on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 30, with right shoulder fatigue.
With the Mets facing a left-hander, Paul Maholm, Terry Collins uses Ronny Paulino and Nick Evans.
