Scott Boras has several high-profile clients.

Mets shortstop Jose Reyes, however, won’t be one of them.

Reyes ended any speculation of a potential partnership with Boras before Saturday night’s game against the Los Angeles Angels when he announced that he will be staying with his current representation, Peter E. Greenberg and Associates. One of Reyes' current agents, Chris Leible, is the godfather to two of the All-Star's children.

FoxSports.com, citing anonymous sources, reported that Boras -- regarded as baseball's most powerful agent -- had engaged in talks with Reyes about becoming his representative. The 28-year-old Reyes can become a free agent at the end of the 2011 season.

“No chance,” Reyes. “Scott Boras went to Colorado [to visit me in early May], but we didn’t have a chance to meet together. I saw him at the stadium and said hello, but nothing else happened. I’m happy with my agents.

“[Scott and I] talked a couple of times on the phone. He’s always tried to get me since the minor leagues, but like I said, I’m happy with my agents.”
