Scott Hairston is going to see plenty of playing time in the upcoming week. Although Angel Pagan is starting Tuesday against A's left-hander Josh Outman, the Mets face three more southpaws between the Oakland series and the next one in Texas.

With Pagan hitting only .128 this season versus left-handers (as opposed to .296 versus right-handers), Terry Collins indicated Hairston will man center field Wednesday. Hairston will either DH or play the outfield for the two games against southpaws in Texas, depending upon Carlos Beltran's preference for playing the field or DHing.
