As voting draws near a close for the July 12 All-Star Game, Jose Reyes continues to make a serious run to overttake Colorado's Troy Tulowitzki to serve as the National League's starting shortstop.
Reyes now has 2,710,777 votes, to Tulowitzki's 2,955,609. Voting closes Thursday night.
Reyes trailed by 413,171 votes only a week ago. He recorded his MLB-leading 14th triple Sunday during a four-hit day as the Mets won a rubber game from the Texas Rangers.
