Manny Acosta suffered a bruise when he hyperextended his right wrist landing awkwardly after wildly spinning while fielding an eighth-inning bunt from Ramon Santiago. Acosta left the game after throwing one subsequent warm-up pitch with Terry Collins and trainer Ray Ramirez watching.
Acosta said he would have a better sense on Friday of the extent of the injury.
If a disabled list stint were required, Ryota Igarashi would be the clear-cut top performer at Triple-A Buffalo to summon. Since allowing a walk-off homer on June 6 at Gwinnett, Igarashi has limited opponents to six hits and three walks in 14 1/3 scoreless innings spanning 10 appearances.
