Wheeler allows four runs in Mets debut

Zack Wheeler, the right-handed prospect the Mets obtained from San Francisco in the Carlos Beltran trade, allowed four runs on seven hits in four innings in his organizational debut on Monday night.

Pitching for Single-A St. Lucie against the Dunedin Blue Jays, Wheeler struck out four, didn't walk any and threw one wild pitch.

He induced one groundout and four flyouts while facing 19 batters.

Wheeler was selected with the No. 6 pick of the first round of the 2009 draft.
