Lucas Duda has been experiencing headaches as the result of crashing into the right-field wall Wednesday in St. Louis pursuing a David Freese triple. Duda underwent an MRI on Friday in New York to determine if he suffered a concussion and will be unavailable at least until those results are available and the headaches subside. The initial diagnosis by the Cardinals team doctor suggested Duda had avoided a concussion.

"He had a headache, actually, most of yesterday," Terry Collins said. "He had a headache this morning."

Meanwhile, Collins said Angel Pagan may be pulled from Friday's lineup. Pagan hit himself in the head with a backswing during the first inning Thursday in St. Louis. He remained in that game, but subsequently developed a headache. Pagan was going to be examined by a doctor Friday afternoon.

"He's complained of a very, very bad headache today," Collins said. "It may be due to the fact he hit himself in the head. ... His batting glove got stuck on his bat on the follow-through, and it smacked him in the back of the head."
