Left-hander Mike O'Connor, who made nine appearances with the Mets last season, has signed a minor-league deal with the Yankees, SI.com reports.

O'Connor had been a free agent.

• Third base prospect Jefry Marte suffered a broken left wrist in the Arizona Fall League and will require surgery. Farm director Adam Wogan tells Savannah broadcaster/PR man Toby Hyde that Marte should be fine for spring training.

Marte hit .333 with four homers and 18 RBIs in 78 AFL at-bats.

Dwight Gooden turned 47 Wednesday.
Adam Rubin has covered the Mets since 2003. He's a graduate of Mepham High School on Long Island and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He joined ESPNNewYork after spending 10 years at the New York Daily News.
