The Mets have signed Vinny Rottino and Valentino Pascucci to minor league deals, sources told ESPNNewYork.com.

Rottino could be particularly valuable as a utility player. He's capable of playing first base, third base, left field and right field while serving as a third catcher.

Rottino was 2-for-14 for the Marlins at the major league level this past season, in his first major league action since 2008. He hit .304 with 10 homers and 59 RBIs in 467 at-bats with Triple-A New Orleans. This season in the minors, Rottino caught 39 games, had 11 games at first base, 66 games in left field and two in right field.

Pascucci, a September call-up, had 21 homers and 91 RBIs for Buffalo this past season.
Adam Rubin has covered the Mets since 2003. He's a graduate of Mepham High School on Long Island and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He joined ESPNNewYork after spending 10 years at the New York Daily News.
