Scott Kazmir could be coming home to the Mets.

ESPN's Buster Olney reports the Mets are one of six finalists for Kazmir's services, and there's a very real possibility he ends up in Flushing.

Kazmir was involved in one of the most infamous trades in Mets history, when he was dealt to Tampa Bay at the July 2004 trading deadline for Victor Zambrano.

Kazmir made only one appearance at the major league level last season. He had a 17.02 ERA in five Triple-A starts.

Kazmir recently threw for scouts and was registering in the upper-80s, with some 90 readings.
Adam Rubin has covered the Mets since 2003. He's a graduate of Mepham High School on Long Island and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He joined ESPNNewYork after spending 10 years at the New York Daily News.
