Ike Davis traveled to New York to have a follow-up related to his spring-training physical. Manager Terry Collins said Wednesday afternoon that Davis already had been cleared there to resume practicing Thursday in Port St. Lucie.

Collins did not specify the nature of the issue. A team spokesman said it is unrelated to last year's ankle issue.

"They wanted to do a double-check on some things," Collins said. "We got a report back that he can resume practice tomorrow and will be OK."
