Around the minors 3.25.12

3/25/2012

BUFFALO 1, NEW ORLEANS 1: A day after going 3-for-3 in his return to minor league camp, Josh Satin drove in the Bison's lone run with a double. Valentino Pascucci also went 1-for-3 with a double in a game called in the top of the seventh inning because of rain. The Bisons benefited from a start from Dillon Gee. The former Bison struck out four in six scoreless innings. The Herd (0-3-3) faces the Memphis Redbirds on Monday at Jupiter.

JACKSONVILLE 2, BINGHAMTON 0: Two runs in the top of the fourth were all the Suns needed to defeat the B-Mets in a game shortened to five innings due to rain. The Suns, Double-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins, play their regular-season contests as a member of the Southern League. The B-Mets collected six hits over five innings and had at least one runner in scoring position in each frame, but failed to crack the scoreboard. Outfielder Pedro Zapata led the offense with a pair of singles. Zapata played 117 games with Class A St. Lucie last year. Left-hander Garrett Olson and righty Gonzalez Germen saw time on the mound for the B-Mets. Olson, a Pittsburgh Pirates farmhand last year, signed as a minor league free agent during the offseason. He injured his pitch hand on a comebacker. Germen pitched for the Savannah Sand Gnats in 2011.
