Kip Wells throws for Mets

Kip Wells, who last pitched in 2009 with the Nationals and Reds, auditioned for the Mets a few weeks ago and registered 93 mph with his fastball, Jon Heyman reports.

Wells, 34, has a 67-99 record and 4.71 ERA in 11 major league seasons, primarily with the White Sox and Pirates.
