The Mets are considering picking up R.A. Dickey's 2013 option soon in exchange for adding years to his existing contract, the Post reports.
Sandy Alderson recently said he hoped Dickey was part of the Mets long term.
Dickey said any internal team discussion hasn't reached anything substantive with him. "We haven't really discussed anything," he said.
Before the 2011 season, Dickey signed a two-year, $7.8 million deal with a team option for 2013 at $5 million. He is due to earn $4.25 million this season.
