No drama: Jose treatment same

The New York Mets will show a video tribute when Jose Reyes returns to Citi Field with the Miami Marlins next Tuesday.

And that's perfectly appropriate as recognition for a homegrown player who spent nine seasons at the major league level. In fact, it's perfectly consistent with what any major league team would do.

Bottom line: It's not just Mike Piazza, Al Leiter, John Franco and Edgardo Alfonzo the Mets honored in identical fashion. The likes of Turk Wendell, Dennis Cook and Todd Pratt -- who collectively returned with the PHILLIES -- got the treatment.

On that last point, one team insider dryly noted, "We even did it for Todd Pratt."
