David Wright surpassed Darryl Strawberry and moved into the No. 1 spot on the franchise’s all-time RBIs list with a sixth-inning two-run home run on Wednesday night. R.A. Dickey out-pitched Mark Buerhle, and the Mets beat the Marlins, 5-1, at Citi Field. Jose Reyes is just 1-for-8 in the series.

The Mets go for the sweep of Miami on Thursday afternoon when they send Jon Niese to the hill against righty Ricky Nolasco.

Thursday’s news reports:

• On Thursday morning, the Mets will find out the results on Mike Pelfrey’s MRI. Pelfrey is currently on the disabled list with right shoulder inflammation.

A source told ESPN NewYork.com’s Adam Rubin that team officials are aware that Pelfrey has a partial tear of the ulnar collateral ligament, and team officials are bracing to lose him to season-ending surgery. It would be an awful blow to Pelfrey, who has pitched to a 2.29 ERA so far in 2012.

A source told the Post that Pelfrey could receive an injection. The right-hander began feeling some tightness in his elbow during his last start -- an eight-inning, one-run outing -- against San Francisco on Saturday.

• Manager Terry Collins said that Chris Schwinden is likely to be promoted from the minors and make Friday’s start in Colorado, but would not name him the official starter.

• The Mets signed former Rule 5 pick Brad Emaus and outfielder Fred Lewis and assigned them to Triple-A Buffalo.

TRIVIA: What pitcher gave up Jose Reyes’ first major-league home run?

Thursday’s answer: Magglio Ordonez had the first ever hit off R.A. Dickey -- a single -- on May 7, 2001.
