Andres Torres' rehab assignment has moved to Triple-A Buffalo. Sandy Alderson said Torres is expected to play for the Bisons on Friday and Saturday, then be activated from the disabled list on Monday in Houston.

Torres reinjured his left calf on Opening Day.
Terry Collins said this week that he expected Kirk Nieuwenhuis to move to left field and Torres to man center when the ex-Giant returned. Those two also should bat Nos. 1 and 2 in some order. Torres does have major league experience in left field, while Nieuwenhuis had never dabbled in the minors at that spot, so perhaps Collins will eventually revisit that alignment. But the fact that Torres has only played center field during his rehab assignment -- and is in the lineup at that position again tonight for Buffalo -- suggests Nieuwenhuis is the one moving to the corner spot during Jason Bay's absence.
Torres was 4-for-12 with two steals in three games with Class A St. Lucie.
Also with Buffalo, catcher Rob Johnson has landed on the disabled list with a sprained left knee. Infielder Brad Emaus and outfielder Fred Lewis, both signed this week, have been activated.
