Top prospect Zack Wheeler has landed on the disabled list with Double-A Binghamton because of a partially torn nail on his right middle finger.

Wheeler next had been due to pitch Friday. Wheeler, 21, is 1-2 with a 1.75 ERA in five starts with the B-Mets. He has struck out 30, walked 14 and hit four in 25 2/3 innings.

Gonzalez Germen has been promoted from St. Lucie to make Wheeler's B-Mets start.

D.J. Carrasco's rehab assignment has shifted to Triple-A Buffalo.
Adam Rubin has covered the Mets since 2003. He's a graduate of Mepham High School on Long Island and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He joined ESPNNewYork after spending 10 years at the New York Daily News.
