The Mets have designated reliever Manny Acosta for assignment as part of a series of official roster moves before Tuesday's game.

Ty Wigginton's three-run homer in the ninth inning Monday against Acosta was the final blow. In 19 relief appearances, Acosta had an 11.86 ERA. He allowed 35 hits and 15 walks in 22 innings.

Infielder Omar Quintanilla and right-hander Chris Schwinden were promoted, while Justin Turner officially was placed on the DL with the right ankle sprain.
