Ruben Tejada, who was scripted for seven innings in a rehab game with Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday, was replaced by a pinch hitter in the top of the third inning.

Tejada experienced tightness in his right quadriceps -- the same muscle group that sent him to the DL May 7 -- and removed himself from the game, the Mets announced.

Tejada was only required to make one play at shortstop Tuesday -- retreating on a ball to catch a pop fly in left field.

Tejada was playing his second rehab game with the International League club. He had gone 0-for-3 and logged five innings at shortstop on Monday with the Bisons.
