WASHINGTON -- Ruben Tejada, who pulled himself from a rehab start with Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday night with a flareup of his right quadriceps issue, won't proceed directly to the Mets' Port St. Lucie, Fla., complex.
Terry Collins said Tejada first headed to New York to again be examined by team doctors.
"I just know his leg tightened up on him. He was afraid to run. So he took himself out of the game," Collins said Tuesday night.
