PAWTUCKET 8, BUFFALO 5: Starter Jeurys Familia was charged with three runs on five hits and six walks in an 86-pitch effort over four-plus innings and Josh Edgin and Pedro Beato also were roughed up. It marked the sixth time in 14 starts Familia failed to complete five innings. Ronny Cedeño went 0-for-3 with a walk and played nine innings at shortstop in the second game of a rehab assignment. Wally Backman was ejected after a face-to-face argument with ump Gerard Ascani. Former Cub Mark Prior, trying to come back from the same surgery performed on Johan Santana and Chris Young, earned his first professional save with a perfect ninth. Beato's scoreless streak ended at 13 1/3 innings. He was charged with three runs (one earned). Box
