Lucas Duda is experiencing a tight hamstring. So Terry Collins chose to be cautious and sit Duda on Wednesday.

Collins placed Vinny Rottino, who otherwise would have manned first base against left-hander Brian Matusz, in the outfield instead.

With mid-90s heat and an off-day Thursday, Collins reasoned that it makes sense to wait until the weekend Yankees series for Duda to start.

"That scares me, always -- especially when you're that big and strong," Collins said about hamstring issues.
