Ronny Cedeño went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts Thursday in his seventh rehab game with Triple-A Buffalo, but appears to have been deemed ready to return to the majors. Cedeño is expected to be at Citi Field when the Mets open their weekend Subway Series against the Yankees.

Cedeño hit .172 (5-for-29) with the Bisons. He logged five straight games at shortstop, then two full games at second base as he returns from a calf strain.

Ruben Tejada (quadriceps) also played for Buffalo on Thursday, going 1-for-4 with a double, RBI and strikeout in his second straight start at shortstop for the Bisons. Terry Collins has said Tejada's return from the DL should lag behind Cedeño's activation.
Adam Rubin has covered the Mets since 2003. He's a graduate of Mepham High School on Long Island and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He joined ESPNNewYork after spending 10 years at the New York Daily News.
