LOS ANGELES -- The accolades continue for Binghamton Mets right-hander Zack Wheeler.

Wheeler, who will join Wilmer Flores at the July 8 Futures Game in Kansas City, also has been named an Eastern League All-Star.

First baseman Eric Campbell and third baseman Jefry Marte also were recognized as B-Mets All-Stars. The game will be played July 11 in Reading, Pa.

The Mets allowing Wheeler to pitch an inning in the Eastern League All-Star Game after appearing in the Futures Game three days earlier would seem doubtful, but there was no immediate official word from the organization. He could be headed to Triple-A after the All-Star break anyway.

Wheeler is 7-3 with a 2.29 ERA in 13 Double-A starts this season. He has allowed 51 hits and 32 walks while striking out 77 in 78 2/3 innings.
Adam Rubin has covered the Mets since 2003. He's a graduate of Mepham High School on Long Island and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He joined ESPNNewYork after spending 10 years at the New York Daily News.
