Citi Field to host Ecuador vs. Chile match

The national soccer teams from Ecuador and Chile will do battle at Citi Field next month, the Mets announced on Tuesday.

The game will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 15 at 8 p.m. Tickets will go on sale this Thursday at 10 a.m., starting at $30.

Chile is currently ranked No. 11 in the world, while Ecuador is ranked No. 36. Both teams have a strong following in the tri-state area.

Ecuador and Greece played to a 1-1 tie in front of 39,656 fans at Citi Field last summer.
