BUFFALO 9, SYRACUSE 8 (14): Matt Tuiasosopo delivered the game-winning single in the top of the 14th inning, and Buffalo topped Syracuse, 9-8, on Thursday night. Adam Loewen and Josh Satin both homered for the Bisons, while Lucas May had four hits and two RBIs. Jeremy Hefner pitched four scoreless innings out of the bullpen to pick up the victory.

BINGHAMTON 5, RICHMOND 1: Zack Wheeler struck out six and allowed just one run to lead Binghamton past the Richmond Flying Squirrels 5-1 on Thursday night at The Diamond. The B-Mets offense pounded out 13 hits, went 6-for-10 with runners in scoring position and drove in three of their five runs with two outs.

Wheeler faced a Giants’ affiliate for the first time since being traded from San Francisco to the Mets in July of 2011. Coming off his roughest start as a B-Met, Wheeler bounced back with a solid outing. The righty limited the Flying Squirrels to just one run on six singles over 7 1/3 innings. He did not allow a single runner to reach third during his outing.

PORT ST. LUCIE 7, JUPITER 1: Travis Taijeron went 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs, and the Mets pounded out 15 hits in a 7-1 victory over the Hammerheads on Thursday at Digital Domain Park. Richard Lucas homered and went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. T.J. Rivera had two hits and drove in a run. Zach Lutz went 1-for-4 with an RBI in his second game with St. Lucie.

BROOKLYN 5 WILLIAMSPORT 4: The Cyclones struck first on Thursday night, taking an early 1-0 advantage, but their lead was short-lived as Brooklyn fell to the Williamsport Crosscutters, 5-4. Starter Rainy Lara took his first loss of the season after going five innings and allowing four earned runs on nine hits. He walked one and struck out nine. Cole Frenzel has now reached base safely in 12 straight games.
