After reflecting more on the issue, Terry Collins told reporters in Kansas City that Chris Young will start the second-half opener Friday in Atlanta, because he is more rested.

Saturday's start remains going to R.A. Dickey.

Sunday apparently will be Jon Niese or Johan Santana, depending on the condition of Santana's right ankle. The other would pitch Tuesday in D.C.

Whenever the Mets decide to use their fifth starter, and they can wait beyond Wednesday, Collins indicated it will be Miguel Batista and not Matt Harvey.
