Lights out in Georgia

ATLANTA -- The Mets-Braves game was halted at 8:07 p.m. with Josh Thole batting in the top of the second inning due to a power failure.

Power was quickly restored to most of the stadium, including the scoreboard and signage, but the stadium lights did not begin to come back on for 10 minutes, forcing play to be stopped.

Played resumed after a 16-minute delay.

The game was being played on the 35th anniversary of the 1977 New York City blackout game at Shea Stadium, when things went dark with Lenny Randle batting.
