It's not the first time and it won't be the last time that the Mets got swept by the Braves. With the help of Baseball-Reference.com, here's a look at some of the weekend's statistical misery.

Larry Strikes Again
Chipper Jones hit his 49th career home run against the Mets, tying Mike Schmidt for second-most all-time -- only Willie Stargell has more -- and did so on a day in which he tied Schmidt for 30th all time with 1,595 career RBIs.

According to Elias, Josh Edgin was the seventh pitcher to allow a homer to Jones in his major league debut, and the third Met, joining Edwin Almonte (2003) and Chris Schwinden (2011).

Jones was 0-for-5 against the Mets on Saturday, only the third time in his career that he had gone hitless in five-plus at-bats against the Mets. The other instances occurred in 1997 and 2002.

Odd fact of the series: Chipper and former teammate Andruw Jones have combined for 250 RBIs against the Mets, but neither has had an RBI triple against them.

Kaboom!
Braves catcher David Ross had four RBIs and three walks against the Mets in Friday’s game. He is only the second player with a four-RBI, three-walk game against the Mets. The other was Jimmy Wynn (known as “The Toy Cannon”) for the 1969 Astros.

Mets pitchers walked 11 in Friday’s loss, the second-most walks they’ve issued in a nine-inning game against the Braves. They issued 12 (and struck out none!) in a 5-4 loss on April 22, 1983 while losing on a walk-off single by Chris Chambliss.

Miguel Batista walked four hitters in 1 1/3 innings without being charged with a run. That’s the most walks by a Mets pitcher who didn’t allow a run, yet whose walk total equaled his out total. Bill Wakefield had three in 1964, a number matched by Dave Eilers (1965) and Jason Isringhausen (2011).

0-for!
David Wright was 0-for-5 with four strikeouts in Saturday’s loss. It was the fifth time in Wright’s career that he struck out four times in a game, and the first since Aug. 11, 2010 against the Rockies. It was the second time he was 0-for-5 with four whiffs, alongside Sept. 25, 2009 against the Marlins.

Unhittable
Braves closer Craig Kimbrel struck out the side for the second straight game. This was the second straight game in the series in which Kimbrel pitched one inning, struck out three and got the save. Only three other pitchers have two such saves against the Mets in their careers: Billy Wagner, Brad Lidge and Jeff Brantley. Kimbrel now has four.

The Streak Lives
R.A. Dickey got a no-decision on Saturday and has now made 15 straight starts without losing. That's the fourth-best streak in Mets history, trailing 18-gamers by Tom Seaver (1969-70), Dwight Gooden (1985), and Johan Santana (2008-09).

Braves left-handed hitters were 7-for-16 against Dickey on Saturday. He’s allowed more hits to lefties in his last two starts (13) than he did in the eight prior to that, during which lefties were 12-for-108 against him.

Dickey’s other issue is the Braves as an opponent. As my colleague Katie Sharp noted, Dickey is 1-1 with an 8.80 ERA and four home runs allowed versus the Braves, but 11-0 with a 1.81 ERA and five homers allowed versus everyone else.

Streaking
The Braves have won five straight games against the Mets. Since the Braves' run of dominance began in 1991, they have had 10 winning streaks of at least five games against the Mets. Their longest in that span is an eight-gamer in 2009.
