WASHINGTON -- All signs point to Jason Bay being activated for Tuesday's series opener against the Nationals, although the Mets have yet to formally announce the roster move.

It will be interesting to see the corresponding transaction. Is Lucas Duda's left hamstring strain severe enough to force him to the disabled list? Is it time to put seldom-used Omar Quintanilla through waivers and see if he clears, since Ruben Tejada has demonstrated his health? Or is Kirk Nieuwenhuis or Jordany Valdespin vulnerable?

Bay went a combined 3-for-16 with six walks in five rehab games between Class A St. Lucie and Triple-A Buffalo.
