WASHINGTON -- Omar Quintanilla has been designated for assignment to clear room for Jason Bay.

Quintanilla must clear waivers before being dispatched to Triple-A Buffalo.

As for Bay, he said the concussion that landed him on the DL is behind him.

"The head hasn't been an issue for a while," Bay said. "It was just game stuff. I got up to Triple-A and played three games there against some better competition. I feel good. ... Down in Tampa [with Class A St. Lucie] the first few games, you could tell I was behind. It's like the first day of spring training. It's like, 'Geez.' And the more you get in the box and the more you see, and the less time you stay away from it, the quicker it comes back."
