WASHINGTON -- Reliever Jon Rauch was unavailable during Tuesday's extra-inning game because he had arrived at Nationals Park with swollen knees, both of which were drained by a doctor.

Terry Collins said the knee swelling has been a recurring issue in Rauch's career. He also had them drained before the All-Star break, according to the manager.

"He feels a lot better today," said Collins, who expected Rauch to be available for Wednesday's game.
