Closer Frank Francisco, who landed on the disabled list with a strained left oblique on June 23, is set to begin a rehab assignment Tuesday with the Brooklyn Cyclones, Terry Collins said.

Francisco threw a pair of weekend bullpen sessions at Citi Field, including a 40-pitch workout Sunday.

Sandy Alderson suggested Francisco would make one appearance with the Cyclones, another two days later at a higher level, then be reassessed for potential activation.
