PHOENIX -- The Diamondbacks offered high praise for Matt Harvey after the the 2010 first-round pick's successful major league debut Thursday night.

Ryan Wheeler, who recently also faced Harvey in the Triple-A All-Star Game said: "We knew he threw hard. We knew he had a hard slider. I mean, I had seen one changeup in the All-Star Game, and it wasn't good. And today his changeup seemed to be on. We knew he had a really good arm, and he showed it today."

Said Jason Kubel: "You hear about facing a guy in his major league debut, you're kind of licking your chops a litle bit. But that wasn't the case today. You're hoping he'll be a little amped and miss spots and leave balls all over the plate. But he just didn't do that."
