SAN FRANCISCO -- Frank Francisco is due to pitch Tuesday and Wednesday for Double-A Binghamton before Mets officials consider whether to activate the closer from the disabled list.

Francisco had been scratched from a Saturday rehab appearance with the B-Mets because of soreness on his left side -- the spot that originally forced him to the DL on June 23 with an oblique strain. He did return to game action with the Eastern League club on Sunday, allowing a bunt single in a scoreless inning.
