SAN DIEGO -- Terry Collins said the Mets would not use R.A. Dickey on short rest during the upcoming homestand against the Marlins and Braves, since Monday is a team off-day and other starters who may need it will get extra rest anyway.

Collins said the organization continues to eye a stretch of 13 straight games from Aug. 14-26 for Dickey potentially being used on short rest.
