SAN DIEGO -- Johan Santana appeared to have an uneventful rehab start for the Brooklyn Cyclones on Sunday.

Santana limited the Auburn Doubledays to a walk and a single while striking out three in three scoreless innings at Coney Island. He tossed 38 pitches (29 strikes).

Santana then tossed an additional three simulated innings in the bullpen to up his pitch count to 90. The Mets plan to activate Santana from the DL on Saturday, to face the Atlanta Braves.

"I feel good," Santana said via the team. "My body had a chance to recover. I really needed that. I threw all my pitches and commanded my fastball."

He officially is on the DL with a right ankle sprain. The Mets believe that injury contributed to shoulder fatigue.
