The Mets are promoting left-hander Garrett Olson from Triple-A Buffalo to the big leagues. Olson will be added to the active roster on Tuesday, the team announced via Twitter. A corresponding roster move will also be made on Tuesday.
Olson, 28, is 4-7 with a 4.56 ERA in 21 starts (25 appearances) for the Bisons.
Elvin Ramirez is the logical candidate to be sent down in order to make room for Olson, who will pitch out of the bullpen. Terry Collins had said he wanted a second southpaw in the pen along with Josh Edgin.
