WHAT IT MEANS: Andres Torres finished a single shy of a cycle while driving in three runs and R.A. Dickey notched his 15th win, matching Jered Weaver for the major league lead, as the Mets beat the Marlins 6-1 Thursday afternoon to snap a nine-game home losing streak.
Ex-Met Jose Reyes had a rough day. Reyes lost David Wright's pop fly in the sun in shallow left field in the fourth inning, putting Wright in position to score the tiebreaking run on the first of Torres' three RBIs.
Torres finished 3-for-3 with a walk.

Anthony Gruppuso/US PresswireR.A. Dickey pitched his fourth complete game of the season to pick up win No. 15.
Dickey, bidding to become the Mets' first 20-game winner since Frank Viola in 1990, notched his NL-leading fourth complete game. The knuckleballer twice coaxed inning-ending groundouts from Reyes with runners on third base.
A half-inning after Justin Ruggiano’s solo homer in the fourth against Dickey evened the score at 1, the Mets retook the lead. Wright was credited with a double when Reyes dropped Wright's leadoff pop fly, which the shortstop lost in the sun. With two outs, Torres also doubled against Josh Johnson, plating Wright and giving the Mets a 2-1 lead.
Torres added a solo homer in the sixth against Johnson. Wright's two-out RBI single in the seventh against Heath Bell opened a three-run cushion. Torres had a run-scoring triple in the ninth.
The home losing streak matched the sixth longest in franchise history.
STREAKING: Ruben Tejada extended his career-high hitting streak to 14 games with a third-inning single.
WHAT’S NEXT: The Mets welcome the Braves this weekend. After three road appearances, Matt Harvey (1-2, 3.86 ERA) makes his first Citi Field start in Friday’s 7:10 p.m. series opener. He opposes left-hander Paul Maholm (9-7, 3.75).
Rob Johnson, who did not appear in the Marlins series after suffering a bruised right hand in San Diego, should catch Harvey, Terry Collins said. Jason Bay figures to be in the lineup for the first time since his playing time reduction, since the Mets face a southpaw.
