September call-up Zach Lutz's season is over.

Lutz will undergo surgery Monday to repair a broken hamate bone in the base of his left hand. He broke the same bone earlier this season and missed 49 games with Triple-A Buffalo. He was put in a splint at the time after being diagnosed with a nondisplaced fracture.

Lutz was 0-for-3 as a pinch hitter this month is now 1-for-11 in his major league career.
