Backman to manage Vegas squad

Wally Backman will remain the Mets' Triple-A manager for 2013.

Backman managed Buffalo to a 67-76 record this past season, in his third season managing in the minors for the organization. The Mets' Triple-A affiliate is moving to Las Vegas for next season.

There was no turnover on the Mets' major league coaching staff.
Adam Rubin has covered the Mets since 2003. He's a graduate of Mepham High School on Long Island and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He joined ESPNNewYork after spending 10 years at the New York Daily News.
