NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- David Wright underwent his physical on Monday morning. The club was just awaiting the blood results in order to announce the third baseman's signing to an extension.

Wright is due to be in Nashville for the formal announcement.

"He had his physical this morning," Alderson said. "The one issue we often have is with blood work. It really doesn't go to the core orthopedic issues. It's just a matter of getting that back, but I'm not sure where we are at the moment. It just takes a while to get back. We're hoping to get back the information later today."
