The deal is pending a physical, the Giants announced. He reportedly will earn $2 million.

Torres had been non-tendered by the Mets last month after hitting .230 with three homers and 35 RBIs in 374 at-bats while earning $2.7 million last season. The switch-hitter batted only .195 as a left-handed batter, while hitting .284 as a right-handed batter.

Pagan, meanwhile, re-signed with San Francisco for four years, $40 million. Ramirez is a free agent.

The Mets optimally still need to add two righty-hitting outfielders. Their current outfield alignment is Lucas Duda in left field, Kirk Nieuwenhuis in center field and Mike Baxter in right field. Jordany Valdespin, a lefty hitter like the three projected starters, is the current top alternative on the bench.

The Mets have been talking for some time of Nieuwenhuis starting in center, although ideally they need a righty-hitting platoon partner for him as well as a starter that would return Baxter to more of a pinch-hitting/spot-starter role.
