College lacrosse doubleheader at Citi Field

The University of Michigan is among four college programs who will play a lacrosse doubleheader at Citi Field in March.
Citi Field will play host to its first Division I lacrosse games on Sunday, March 17.

Fred Wilpon's alma mater, the University of Michigan, will oppose Colgate at 1:05 p.m.. Holy Cross and Navy meet at 4:05 p.m.

ESPNU and ESPN3 will carry the games, respectively.

Tickets go on sale Wednesday at Mets.com/Lacrosse, Tickets.com and (718) 507-TIXX.

“Lacrosse is immensely popular in our community and we are thrilled to bring together these four prestigious universities for the first-ever lacrosse games at Citi Field,” Mets executive VP Dave Howard said in a statement. “This high-profile event further positions Citi Field as a world-class sports and entertainment venue that has hosted a myriad of events including international soccer, large-scale concerts and festivals.”
